Deriving a Relationship from a Single Example
Given an appropriate domain specific language (DSL), it is possible to describe the relationship between Haskell data types and many generic functions, typically type-class instances. While describing the relationship is possible, it is not always an easy task. There is an alternative – simply give one example output for a carefully chosen input, and have the relationship derived. When deriving...
متن کاملXML Schema Inference from Positive Example - The TLSM Approach
A new algorithm that extracts an XML schema from an XML document is presented. The proposed algorithm processes the tree structure of the XML document. It compares between sub-trees, merges similar nodes and creates a new state machine that describes the structure of the XML document. In addition, a method to convert this state machine into an XML Schema document is also presented.
متن کاملSimulations with Elaborated Worked Example Modeling: Beneficial Effects on Schema Acquisition
Worked examples have been effective in enhancing learning outcomes, especially with novice learners. Most of this research has been conducted in laboratory settings. This study examined the impact of embedding elaborated worked example modeling in a computer simulation practice activity on learning achievement among 39 undergraduate students within a classroom environment. The students from one...
متن کاملBirkhoff's Theorem from a geometric perspective: A simple example
From Hilbert's theorem of zeroes, and from Noether's ideal theory, Birkhoff derived certain algebraic concepts (as explained by Tholen) that have a dual significance in general toposes, similar to their role in the original examples of algebraic geometry. I will describe a simple example that illustrates some of the aspects of this relationship. The dualization from algebra to geometr...
متن کامل1 SPHINX : Schema Integration by Example
We focus on the problem of semi-automated query discovery for XML views without requiring the intervention of an expert to guarantee a correct final result. Given multiple independent sources of heterogeneous XML data structures, our tool, SPHINX, lets a nontechnical user define views using example -based, graphical, interaction. SPHINX embodies a syntactically derived meta-model of federating ...
